Speakers

Wendell 'Woody' Minnich our main speaker from New Mexico, USA, is giving four talks: Cactus, Canyons and Coyotes USA; The Genus Gymnocalycium; The AAA of Mexico (Ariocarpus, Astrophytum and Aztekium); and Bolivia to Patagonia.

He has made many trips to Mexico, and to many countries in South America such as Bolivia, Uruguary and Argentina. Being a former art teacher his photography is superb, as are his presentations.


Gideon Smith from Pretoria, South Africa is giving two talks: Aloes - Flagship Succulents of Africa; and Southern Africa - Succulent Plant Paradise.

Gideon has written many books - "Guide to the Aloes of South Africa", "Mesembs of the World" and "Regions Floristic Endemism in Southern Africa" .


Trevor Cheeseman from the Auckland Branch is our other speaker: The Flowering Mammillarias.

The Cactus Crawl is on the Saturday afternoon

Spit Roast, Sunday night, at the Arts & Craft Centre, Elizabeth Street West, Tauranga.
